At the invitation of the President of ENTSO-E, the members of the Transelectrica’s Supervisory Board and Management Board, a delegation representing the company’s dual leadership attended the biannual CIGRE 2022 Conference. On this occasion, the long-term cooperation between Transelectrica, as a strategic OTS member in South-East Europe, and the ENTSO-E Professional Association was discussed.
ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators, represents 39 electricity transmission system operators from 35 countries across Europe, thus extending beyond EU borders.
Transelectrica will continue to support ENTSO-E, in order for the association to remain a “strong united voice in Europe, to represent the OTS towards the European Institutions, ACER, the Regulatory Authorities, the new EU-DSO entity and the other participants in the energy market, in order to strengthen the networks and increase interconnection capacity” said Cătălin Dascăl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board (SB).
The company wants ENTSO-E’s support for Transelectrica’s candidate in the upcoming elections for the ENTSO-E Board (2023). At the same time, Mihai Păun, Chairman of the Energy Security and Investment Commission and Member of the Supervisory Board, referred to “more support at the level of ENTSO-E Regional Groups to increase the share of selected Transelectrica projects in the total value of ENTSO-E network development projects for the next 10 years (TYNDP) from the current 0.3%, to a reasonable amount, proportional to the share of Transelectrica’s participation in the ENTSO-E budget. “We wish to offer Transelectrica’s support to the application of Moldelectrica – the transmission and system operator of the Republic of Moldova – for observer membership in ENTSO-E”, Mihai Păun recalled.
Other visits and meetings were organized for the SB and Directorate Delegation during the CIGRE Conference.
