The General Mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, announced that he will propose to the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest, in Thursday, September 29’s meeting, a project for the location of 40 charging stations for electric cars in Bucharest. At the same time, PMB will launch in the SEAP (Public Procurement System) the tender for the refurbishment of 50 km of tram infrastructure – the largest public purchase ever made by the Capital City Hall, with a value of 500 million euro, wrote on Facebook the mayor of Bucharest.
“In Thursday’s meeting, I will submit to the approval of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest an extremely important draft decision for the protection of the environment – the collaboration protocol between the Street Administration and the Bucharest Municipal Energy Services Company (CMESB), a protocol that will help us place 40 charging stations for electric cars in Bucharest,” says Nicușor Dan.
“We talk about charging stations that we will place through CMESB in the parking lots managed by the Streets Administration. These will be in areas such as Amzei Square, Victoriei Square, Alba Iulia Square, Constitution Square, Revolution Square, University, Bucur Obor, Rahova, Sala Palatului, Bucharest City Hall, Bd. Aviatorilor, Bd. Timișoara, Bd. Iuliu Maniu, Bd. Schitu Măgureanu, Mendeleev Street, Calea Moșilor, Calea Plevnei, Splaiul Unirii, parking lots Eva, Lido, North Station, Maria Rosetti, Lipscani. Thus, we want to meet the needs of individuals and legal entities to have as many charging stations as possible, given the increased number of electric/hybrid car users. Compania Energetica will provide the fueling stations and the necessary equipment specific to their operation and will place them in the spaces made available by the Streets Administration, to be used by citizens.”
At the same time, the tram infrastructure will benefit from non-refundable funds of 300 million euro and attracted funds of 200 million euros said the mayor of the Capital.
“We are launching in SEAP the tender for the refurbishment of 50 km of tram infrastructure. It is the largest public purchase ever made by the Capital City Hall, with a value of 500 million euro. Regarding the source of funding for the project, we will apply for 300 million euro from non-reimbursable funds to the Regional Operational Program 2021 – 2027. For the remaining 200 million euro, we are analyzing the possibility of contracting loans and attracting funds from international financing institutions,” he wrote on the official Facebook page.
