The suppliers will delay the issuance of consumption invoices for the month of September, as they did not have time to adapt their invoicing software, said on Tuesday Dana Dărăban, executive director of the Federation of Associations of Energy Utility Companies (ACUE).
She explained that GEO 119/2022 was issued on September 1, with applicability also from September 1, and suppliers need at least 30 days to modify the software.
“I think that all providers will encounter problems in implementing the new criteria for selecting beneficiaries, applying the ceiling to certain consumption margins, which is very likely to lead, in certain situations, to delays. We saw the law adopted on September 1, with applicability on September 1. It is a matter that I have said several times: we need a period of 30 days to implement the changes,” said Dărăban.
The suppliers will not interrupt the supply activity, she added.
“It will depend on a case-by-case basis. Each supplier will try to be as little affected as possible, because late invoicing means a delay in receipts for them as well, which adds to the risks and liquidity access problems of suppliers,” said the ACUE representative, according to Agerpres.
Dărăban advised customers who receive an invoice for two or three months, which they cannot pay at once, to talk to the supplier about staggered payments.
“When three invoices arrive, if necessary, the suppliers will also offer installments”, added Dărăban.
