The households of the Republic of Moldova responded to the authorities’ call to save energy resources as much as possible and managed to reduce gas consumption in September by over 30% or 15% more than the EU states.
“Today I come with a message of gratitude, dear Moldovans, for the fact that you did not let your hands down, but made efforts to consume wisely. In September, household consumers managed to reduce their gas consumption by more than 30% compared to the same month last year. Please let’s keep doing this – save as much as we can. I believe we can. It is extremely important and I know that you understand this very well,” Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu wrote in a post on his Facebook page, according to Timpul.md.
He also claims that it is “unfair” to go through these crises, but we will manage to overcome them.
“Yes, it is unfair that Moldovans go through so many hardships for years in a row, and now we are affected by crises that we did not cause. Hardships have made us resilient and prudent over time. Each of us can control the bills and it depends on each of us what the Republic of Moldova will look like after these complicated times. The Government, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova will help people get through this difficult winter through compensation. It is the responsibility of all of us to come out of difficulties with our heads held high,” concluded Spînu.
