Bucharest City Hall signed the purchase contract for a loan of 500 million lei, after a procedure won by UniCredit, for the payment of part of the debts in the heating sector, the Mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, announced on the official Facebook page.
“We have completed the procedure for acquiring the loan of 500 million lei for the thermal energy payment of price differences between 2019-2022. The acquisition was won by UniCredit. I thank my colleagues from the town hall and the bank employees who last night at 22:00 were still working on the documents necessary to approve this loan,” said Nicușor Dan.
“There are still some procedures to be completed, namely the opinion of the Local Loans Authorization Commission, the vote in the General Council and the actual drawing and use of the money. All these steps must be completed in an extremely short time, because the emergency ordinance given by the Government obliges us to finish the procedure by the end of the year”, he also wrote.
“We compressed into one month what is normally done in 3 months, at the cost of many meetings and many hours of overtime in the city hall and in the banks that attended the auction. I am optimistic that we will be able to finish this procedural marathon well so that the people of Bucharest can get through the winter well.”
