OMV Petrom supplements the contribution for the modernization of the operating block of the Ploiești Emergency Hospital with around 2 million euros. This additional contribution is in addition to a 3 million euro sponsorship from 2022. The money is dedicated to rehabilitating operating theaters by equipping them with modern medical equipment. The Ploiești Emergency Hospital is the most important medical unit in Prahova County, being the only hospital in the area with sections for plastic surgery, micro-reconstructive surgery and treatment of burn patients.
“The health of our people and the communities in which we are present is a priority for us. I am glad that we can contribute to the improvement of the medical services offered by the County Hospital and I am impressed by the remarkable progress with the modernization of the first 7 operating rooms. With this new contribution, we are closer to the complete modernization of this vital facility for the Prahova community. I thank all the professionals at the hospital and the local authorities for making this project possible,” said Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom.
During the past year, 7 of the hospital’s 13 operating rooms were newly-equipped. Another 4 are to be endowed with modern medical equipment.
OMV Petrom has been constantly involved in important health projects. In total, in the last 5 years, OMV Petrom has supported the medical sector in Romania with over 18 million euros.
