OMV Petrom is financing the operational costs of the House of Hope HOSPICE Foundation with over 7 million euros this year, for the benefit of around 5,000 patients, the company informs.
“We support HOSPICE Casa Speranței because we firmly believe in the right to dignity of the incurably ill. HOSPICE Casa Speranței is a home, a refuge and a symbol that reminds us all that, in the face of suffering, we are not and should not be alone. We are privileged to work alongside an organization with such a long and impactful experience in Romania,” said Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom.
According to the OMV Petrom press release, over 170,000 patients need palliative care every year, but only one in five receives such services. Moreover, 11 counties in Romania do not have a palliative care provider. Since its foundation, Casa Speranței HOSPICE has helped over 45,000 patients and over 100,000 relatives.
