Companies and municipalities in Romania will never again encounter the financing opportunities for renewable energy projects that exist now and, for this reason, they need to attract as many funds as possible. ” Such prospects for green energy investment will never arise again “, said Roxana Mircea, Managing Partner at REI Grup, during the conference “Energy efficiency for the energy transition – Brașov”.

During this time, Romania has access to several billion euros that it can use to spend in the production of energy from clean sources.

For example, the Modernization Fund gives 500 million euros to UATs, and a similar amount goes to factories for projects that use green energy sources to make energy for their own use.

Another 500 million euros, also allocated through the Modernization Fund, will be managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and will be allocated to farmers who want to install green energy production units.

The quality of the proposals is one of the challenges in obtaining these funds, so interested companies should “stop drawing some projects in the office only to realize afterward that the reality in the field is completely different”.

At the same time, the biggest risks are in the implementation, so the beneficiaries of funds intended for the production of energy from renewable sources must be careful not to fall into the trap of companies that do not have the necessary expertise.

“Don’t fall for companies established a month or two ago that do not have the expertise and that do not contractually offer the guarantee of correct and complete projects from an administrative point of view”, said Mircea.

The conference in Brașov was the first of a series of 5 scheduled by the Energynomics communication platform, the Romanian Fund for Energy Efficiency – FREE and the Directorate for Energy Efficiency within the Ministry of Energy. The project is financed by Norway Grants 2014-2021.
