The contract worth 673.5 million euro for the construction and commissioning of the 1,750 MW combined cycle power plant in Mintia was signed between AVAX Group and Mass Group Holding (MGH), announced the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu.
“We keep our promises! A new important step for the construction of the Mintia plant! The contract for the construction and commissioning of the 1,750 MW combined cycle power plant was signed! The contract, worth 673.5 million euros, was signed between AVAX Group and Mass Group Holding (MGH)”, wrote Popescu on the official Facebook page, according to Agerpres.
According to him, the construction will last 38 months and the investment will create approximately 700 jobs.
The new plant at Mintia is to be put into operation in the summer of 2026.
“The unit will operate on natural gas and will include two SGT5-9000HL gas turbines, one SST5-5000 steam turbine and three SGen5-3000W generators from Siemens. At the same time, the plant’s components will be prepared for the transition to the new production technologies of energy, based on hydrogen. Today a new step was taken for the energy independence of our country,” added the Minister of Energy.
