CEZ Vânzare was acquired by Premier Energy, the companies announced. The transaction took place on Thursday, December 21 and will take effect after the prior completion of all necessary legal procedures.
Premier Energy is a gas supplier for domestic and non-domestic consumers (retail, industry, trade), operates and owns a gas distribution network in Bucharest and in the areas adjacent to the capital: the South and West of the country, as well as in smaller towns in the northern part of Romania. The company is the third largest player in the profile market.
The contractual provisions between the company and their customers, employees, suppliers or partners remain the same in the context of the transaction and the change of shareholder. Also, the CEZ Sales team and contact details remain unchanged in the following period.
CEZ Vânzare’s strategy will remain focused on the activity of supplying electricity and natural gas and closely correlated with the needs of its customers.
Premier Energy is owned by the Czech investment fund Emma Capital, controlled by Czech entrepreneur Jiří Šmejc, who also serves as CEO of PPF, the largest investment fund in the region with assets of over 42 billion euros. Premier Energy PLC is the largest distributor and supplier of electricity in the Republic of Moldova, with a market share of around 70%.
