Bucharest City Hall mayor Nicuşor Dan says that a draft decision approved by the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest (CGMB) is not necessary for the ELCEN-Termoenergetica merger, because the intentions for this have already been expressed by the Ministry of Energy and by the mayor general, according to news.ro.
“Everything is to reach the technical discussion on the basis of which the merger will be carried out and, as I told you before, there are technical difficulties. There is that claim that ELCEN has. There are several technical difficulties,” said Nicușor Dan.
“There is no need for a Council decision for this matter. There is an intention that the municipality expressed through the mayor of the municipality in 2021. There is a previous Council decision, from 2017 or 2018. Everything is to reach the technical discussion on the basis of which the merger should be carried out and, as I told you before, there are technical difficulties. There is that debt that ELCEN has. There are several technical difficulties”, said Nicuşor Dan, when asked about the request of the Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja to introduce on the agenda of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest the approval in principle of the ELCEN – Termoenergetica merger.
Previously, the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, requested the Mayor of the Capital, Nicuşor Dan, to supplement the agenda of the General Council meeting on Thursday, February 29, with an item to provide for the approval in principle from the CGMB of the ELCEN-Termoenergetica merger.
