The commissioners from Consumer Protection decided to temporarily stop the provision of services, until the deficiencies are remedied, for 4 stations in the Lukoil network and have applied, so far, fines in the amount of over 45,000 lei following the controls carried out at the level of the entire country in this network of gas stations, informs the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).
“The National Authority for Consumer Protection started on 14.03.2024 an extensive control action, at the level of the entire country, which aims at the way in which the legislation in force, in the field, is respected in the fuel stations of the Lukoil network. Until this at the moment the ANPC commissioners checked 88 stations, the action being in progress at most of them. For the irregularities found, so far, the following sanctions have already been applied: contravention fines in the amount of over 45,000 lei; 3 warnings; temporary stop of the provision of services, until the deficiencies for 4 stations are remedied”, reads the ANPC press release quoted by Agerpres.
The main deviations found were the lack of price tags on the products on the shelf, the use of unsanitized refrigeration units, with accumulations of dust, impurities and ice, the use of fuel pumps with grooves (fuel gun) with degraded areas, with an advanced degree of wear and rust or dirty, the sale of unlabeled products – without identification elements, the use of unsanitized equipment, non-compliance with the product storage temperature recommended by the manufacturer, inconsistencies between the price displayed on the shelf and the one charged at the cash register, the sale of products with consumption limit exceeded, the sale of bulk food products without being accompanied by the date of opening, the sale of finished culinary products for which production sheets were not presented, the sale of toys with labeling deficiencies, non-compliance with the promotions regime, sale of non-food products without a certificate guarantee and the sale of some textile products without mentioning the fibrous composition in Romanian.
At the beginning of this week, the National Authority for Consumer Protection announced that it had started an extensive control action, at the level of the entire country, aimed at the way in which the legislation in force is respected in the fuel stations of the OMV-Petrom network, and following the checks ordered the temporary closure of 11 stations.
Contravention fines amounting to over 340,000 lei and 5 warnings were applied for the detected irregularities. Also, the commissioners established the definitive stop from the sale of products worth over 30,000 lei, the temporary stop of the provision of services, until the deficiencies are remedied, for 11 stations and made a proposal to close a fuel station for a period of up to 6 months.
