The distribution company Delgaz Grid, part of the E.ON group in Romania, has so far submitted a number of 20 investment projects, totaling 3.3 billion lei, in order to obtain financing of 2.6 billion lei from the Modernization Fund, the difference being insured by the company.
Six projects, worth 900 million lei, with a co-financing of almost 700 million lei, have already been approved and the financing contracts signed.
The package of 20 projects refers to: modernization of transformer stations, high, medium and low voltage networks, transformer stations, SMART metering, as well as increasing the capacity of networks in the Moldova area, where the Delgaz Grid company operates a distribution network of electricity (Bacău, Iasi, Neamț, Vaslui, Botoșani and Suceava counties).
The two projects for the modernization of low-voltage power lines and transformer substations, of which the financing contract was signed for one, have a total value of 375 million lei, of which 286 million lei from the Modernization Fund.
“Approximately 98% of the prosumers are connected to the low-voltage network, and for the safe takeover of the energy produced by them, the modernization of the infrastructure is essential. We invest sustainably in the development and increase of the capacity of the distribution system, both from our own sources and from financing attracted from European Funds, through the Modernization Fund”, says Cristian Secoșan, general director of Delgaz Grid.
The main works considered consist in the modernization of about 466 km of low-voltage network and the equipment at the transformer stations; replacing nearly 100 transformers and about 7,700 non-compliant poles and installing 4,500 smart meters.
