The natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova is still in the construction phase and all the players involved must respect the rules to ensure the smooth functioning of the market, said Ion Lupulescu, the director of the company.

“The market is just starting to build. All players have to play by the rules for the market to work,” he said at the conference Regional Approach: Chisinau 2024, organised by Energynomics.

During June 2023, the company carried out the first transactions on the free natural gas market on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The first Moldovan companies that realized sale-purchase transactions on the platform managed by BRM EAST ENERGY were Transautogaz and Natural Gaz DC, while the largest quantities were traded by National Power Corp. BRM East Energy’s long-term plans for the development of a free natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova are also in full swing.

“We came to the Republic of Moldova in 2021 with long-term plans and found partners willing to follow the European path and support a free gas market. When there is goodwill, things go well,” Lupulescu added.
