The Danish developer and operator of wind, photovoltaic and hybrid energy projects Eurowind Energy announces the completion of the electrical transformation station and the start of the installation of the photovoltaic panels within the Teiuș park. Due to become operational in mid-October 2024, the project in Alba county will produce approximately 103.59 GWh annually, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions by 37,125 tons annually.

The internal transformation station, an essential element of the Teiuș photovoltaic park, was purchased following a competitive purchase procedure, won by Enevo Group and built to the highest quality and safety standards. At the same time, the purchase contract concluded with the bidder included the transport, assembly, testing and commissioning of the 110/20 kV, 80 MVA power transformer and transformer station. These will ensure the efficient integration of the energy produced in the national electricity grid, thus facilitating Romania’s objectives of increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix.

At the same time, the start of the assembly of the structure for the photovoltaic panels marks a new important step in the realization of this ambitious project. With a total installed capacity of 60.2 MW, the Teiuș photovoltaic park will produce enough green energy to power 25,000 households, reducing CO2 emissions and promoting environmental conservation. The project financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Program and developed by the beneficiary Teiuș Solar will support the fight against climate change by increasing the production of energy from renewable solar sources in Alba County by 60.2 MW.

“We are extremely pleased to announce the completion of the transformation station and the start of the installation of the photovoltaic panels in the Teiuș park. This project reflects our commitment to invest in the green and sustainable future of Romania and to bring significant benefits to the local community and the national economy,” said Adrian Dobre, Country Manager Romania within Eurowind Energy.

Through the progress of the Teiuș photovoltaic park, Eurowind Energy reaffirms its dedication to the development of renewable energy projects that contribute to a more resource-efficient, greener and more competitive economy and support global efforts to combat climate change.
