Romanians who want to install photovoltaic panels with money from the state through the Casa Verde Photovoltaic 2024 program will also have to install electricity storage facilities. At the same time, the amount of financing will increase from 20,000 lei/beneficiary to 27,000-30,000 lei, so that people can also finance their batteries, said Adrian Corbu, vice president of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), according to HotNews.ro.

The AFM official stated that these days they are working together with the Ministry of the Environment to establish the exact amount that a beneficiary can access, and the guide will be published next week.

“We estimate that the program will start sometime in mid-September. The guide is 99% complete, the last details that remain to be determined are related to the amount of funding. Given that this year comes with a novelty, namely the storage part, we will also increase the amount of financing, from 20,000 lei, as it was in past years, somewhere between 27,000 – 30,000 lei, we have not yet determined the final amount. We proposed the amount of 30,000 lei, but there are still debates. We hope that next week the Guide will be put up for public debate,” said Corbu.

At least 60,000 consumers will install solar panels through Casa Verde Photovoltaics 2024

The total budget of the scheme for this year is 2 billion lei.

“And the legislation will change: it will no longer be possible to install photovoltaic panels (through the Casa Verde Fotovoltaice program – n.r.) unless the project also includes the storage part. It will be mandatory to install a minimum of 3 kV of photovoltaic panels and the related storage for them”, said the vice-president of the AFM.

Enrollment in the program will be done by region, as in previous years. Beneficiaries will register in the AFM application.

According to Corbu, it is considered that this year a single day will be allocated for each region and not three days, as last year, as the funds ran out from the first minutes.

The validation of the beneficiaries will be done by the installers, after which the AFM will publish the list of natural persons who have obtained financing and those who have been rejected.

“We estimate that there will be at least 60,000 beneficiaries. They are added to the 128,000 people who installed photovoltaic panels in the programs from 2019-2023, as well as to the 697 religious units,” added the AFM official.
