Chimcomplex has recently submitted an offer for the concession of the heating service in Iaşi, as part of an extensive industrial development project, called “Iaşi Biochemistry Plant”, informs the company through a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
This project, which is in the phase of preliminary studies, which foresees investments of about 2.2 billion euros, over a period of 10 years, is part of the long-term strategy of the CRC group to support the reindustrialization of the country, using modern and sustainable technologies.
“Our participation in this tender represents a first step in a larger project, dedicated to the development of the modern chemical industry in Iași. It is important to emphasize that our interest is not in the heating field per se, but in supporting a large-scale industrial project. This The project provides for the construction of a high-efficiency cogeneration plant in Holboca, which will serve the new “Iași Biochemistry Plant”. The plant will produce electricity and thermal energy for the plant, and the surplus heating agent will be able to be delivered to the city’s heating system at a very low cost, close to zero,” said the president of Chimcomplex, Ştefan Vuza, according to Agerpres.
According to him, the 8 factories of the industrial platform will use only biochemical technologies, hence the name. The industrial-scale production platforms will remain those in Oneşti and Vâlcea, and a Research Center will also be built in Buzău.
“The cogeneration will be dedicated to the production of electricity and heat for the new industrial complex, but a covering percentage will be allocated to the supply of hot water for the city. This percentage will allow us to subsidize the costs for the delivery of the heating agent to the city. Of course, the final price for citizens will also have a distribution cost, which is not under our control. However, the final price will be the lowest in Romania, and the City Hall will no longer have to allocate money for subsidies. It is good news for the residents of Iasi, but we must be realistic and recognize that “the devil is in the details”. We will probably face challenges during the implementation of the project, either because of divergent interests or for external reasons, but we are prepared to overcome them,” added Ştefan The sight.
He specified that, in the preparation of this project, CRC had consultative meetings with representatives from the academic and business environment in Iasi, respectively from the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University, and the “Petru Poni”, including the professor Bogdan Simionescu, vice-president of the Romanian Academy.
“All these institutions support this ambitious project, which will contribute to the rebirth of the chemical industry in the region. We estimate that the project will benefit from funding from Brussels, along with the Group’s own funds. There are also emotional arguments behind this project – it is dedicated to all chemists in Iasi and Moldova, including in memory of my mother, a former chemist at CFS Iasi. Our goal is to offer these professionals a modern place, equipped with the latest technologies, where they can exercise their passion for the benefit of the country,” concluded the president of Chimcomplex.
