The Alba Green Energy Fair, held from 21 to 22 September 2024, was a considerable success, attracting an impressive number of visitors. The event demonstrated the public’s growing interest in energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, a trend that is gaining momentum as the transition to clean energy becomes a global priority. A record number of exhibiting companies attended the 12th edition of the fair, confirming the growing demand for green equipment and solutions. The event, dedicated to the development of the local market for energy efficiency and renewable energy, achieved its aim of informing the public and raising awareness in these key areas for a sustainable future.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of innovative solutions, from photovoltaic panel systems and heat pumps, to efficient heating and cooling solutions, energy-saving lighting, automation, smart-home technologies and for the first time this year even photovoltaic panel maintenance solutions. A particular attraction of the fair was the presence of electric vehicles, including cars, scooters and utility vehicles, which piqued visitors’ interest with test drives offered by the dealers present.

The “Eco Inventica” fair continued to be an attraction for those who visited the fair. Since its launch in 2010, the fair has brought together Romanian inventors who had the opportunity to present their creations centred on energy efficiency and other energy-related fields. The Invention Hour, a related event of the fair, dedicated to high school students, has meant an extraordinary transfer of information on how to develop an invention, carried out by each inventor participating in the “Eco Inventica” fair.

This year, a first was the presence of the Intelligent Energy Association, represented by Mr Dumitru Chisăliță. The participation of this association added value to the event, through their expertise and vision on energy efficiency and sustainability in the energy sector.

A notable aspect of the fair was the direct interaction between visitors and equipment dealers, giving the public the opportunity to better understand the benefits of these products and to benefit from special offers.

Interest in renewable energy generation solutions, especially photovoltaic panels and storage systems, has been boosted by the launch of the Photovoltaic Green House 2024 programme. In this context, the Alba Local Energy Agency (ALEA) provided a dedicated information point, where visitors could get free advice on how to access funds through this national programme. The presence of AFM-validated installation companies from Alba County was another major attraction, providing visitors with technical information and essential details related to the installation process.

Among the special highlights of the fair was the kindergartens’ eco-show, where the little ones delighted the audience with themed artistic moments about environmental protection. The fair’s tombola also offered substantial prizes to those who participated in the event.

The organisers, the Alba Local Energy Agency (ALEA) and Alba County Council, expressed their determination to continue this project in the coming years, underlining the importance of increasing energy efficiency for the citizens of the county and for the sustainable development of the region.
