Electric mobility is beneficial from the point of view of public transport, and in Brasov, 75% of public transport is electric, and by the end of this year, it will be completely electric, said Christian Macedonschi, president of the Electric Mobility Association (EMA).

“Brasov is a model of good practice not just for Romania but for the whole of Europe,” he added, at the conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Brașov 2024” organised by Energynomics and the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania.

Electric mobility helps to balance the energy system and is 30% cheaper than traditional fuels, but unfortunately many people still don’t fully understand it.

The battery problem has been tackled by Tesla, which will reuse batteries more than eight years old for energy storage in homes for photovoltaic systems.

“We must do everything we can to convince governments to support electric mobility, because because subsidies have been cut, sales have gone into the cellar,” Macedonschi stressed.

A big push will be to replace large car fleets with electric vehicles, but this process will need government support in one form or another.

The conference “Digitalization and energy efficiency – Brașov 2024” was organised by Energynomics and the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania, with the support of our partners: Bepco, Exim Banca Românească,  ICAP CRIF, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, Polytrade Global, SolarX Power, Unicredit Bank, WALDEVAR Energy, WEBUS 4 ENERGY.
