Elektra Renewable Support will, starting next year, integrate energy storage batteries into all its wind energy projects that include capacities between 6 and 10 MW, said Elena Popescu, the company’s CEO.
“At the moment, no one has extensive experience in the field of batteries, neither Transelectrica, nor anyone else,” said Popescu, speaking at the conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania”, organised by Energynomics.
“One of our customers is installing such a system and probably in the first quarter of 2025 it will start to be trialled. From a technical perspective, we have no concerns either from a proprietary SCADA integration or operational perspective,” she added.
Popescu also pointed out that since 2009, Elektra Renewable Support has been able to consolidate its business and maximise its profits using all available commercial resources. By deploying energy storage systems, the company has started to support the national grid and generate additional revenues from the process.
The conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners: Alive Capital, Elektra Renewable Support, Enevo Group, Ensys, Enexus, OX2, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, SIM Connect, SolaX Power, Think Blu Solution, WEBUS 4 ENERGY, Wiren.
