More than 80% of RWEA members have projects involving energy storage, and three members already have tens of MW of storage projects implemented, said Liviu Gavrilă, vice-president of the Romanian Wind Energy Association (RWEA), at the conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania”, organised by Energynomics.

“Balancing costs have exceeded any imaginable threshold, but energy storage is the only immediate measure that can limit these imbalance costs,” he said.

At the same time, the need for balancing is in the order of hundreds of MW, and system companies need to digitalise and change the commercial paradigm in which they operate.

The conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners: Alive Capital, Elektra Renewable Support, Enevo Group, Ensys, Enexus, OX2, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, SIM Connect, SolaX Power, Think Blu Solution, WEBUS 4 ENERGY, Wiren.
