Dor Marian: The average energy price could reach 50 euros/MWh in ten years

The average price of electricity could fall to 50 euros per MWh in the next 8-10 years if 20-30 GW of renewable energy capacity is installed, accompanied by 8 GW of battery storage, says Dor Marian, founder of Wiren.

“Fitting energy storage units in batteries is currently the best option. These batteries can be installed both at residential prosumers and as stand-alone units or can be added to existing photovoltaic and wind farms,” he said at the conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania”, organised by Energynomics.

However, some existing wind and photovoltaic parks cannot access the grants available to invest in energy storage units due to subsidisation through the green certificate system. So they will have to wait until 2027, when this grant scheme expires, to be able to access funds for energy storage investments.

The conference “Battery Energy Storage Systems – BESS Romania” was organised by Energynomics with the support of our partners: Alive Capital, Elektra Renewable Support, Enevo Group, Ensys, Enexus, OX2, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, EVOLVE Energy Management Solutions, SIM Connect, SolaX Power, Think Blu Solution, WEBUS 4 ENERGY, Wiren.
