AIEE: Daniel Costianu elected President of EUREL for the period 2025-2026

Daniel Costianu, member of the AIEE Board of Directors, has been elected President of the Convention of National Associations of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technology Engineers in Europe. “This position comes with great responsibility, as EUREL is the European umbrella organisation for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technology Engineers”, said Daniel Costianu.

For his part, Mircea Bițoiu, President of AIEE, expressed his conviction that “from this position, Daniel will ensure that EUREL’s objectives will be realised, will continue the traditional activities of the association and will certainly initiate other new actions”.

Daniel Costianu has been involved in EUREL activities since 2011, he was EUREL YEP President (for 1 year), EUREL YEP Vice-President (for 2 years). He participated in all activities organised by EUREL. He is AIEE founder and member of the AIEE Board of Directors.

Daniel is currently Project Manager Siemens Energy Romania. He has 18 years of experience in projects in the energy sector for conventional and renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution power plants located in Romania and Republic of Moldova. He is a certified expert in project management. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Power Engineering, with a master’s degree and PhD from the Faculty of Automatics and Computers.

The EUREL Association was founded in Switzerland in 1972 under the name “Convention of National Societies of Electrical Engineers of Western Europe”, before starting to expand into Central Europe. The objectives of EUREL are to facilitate the exchange of information and to promote the wider dissemination of scientific, technical and related knowledge and standardisation relevant to electrical, electronic and information technology engineering. In this way EUREL contributes to the development of scientific and technical knowledge for the benefit of both the profession and the public it serves.

The Association of Energy and Electrical Engineers – AIEE is a professional organisation established in 2022 with the aim to contribute to the growth of the role of energy and electrical engineers in the development and modernisation of the energy system, a pillar of economic development.
