“I see significant potential for Turkish companies here,” said Corneliu Bodea, President of the Romanian Energy Centre and CEO of Adrem Group, highlighting the opportunities available for cross-border cooperation. Romania is emerging as a prime destination for renewable energy investments, thanks to favorable European Union regulations designed to support the development of clean energy, he said  at the “Regional Approach Istanbul: Co-operation for profitable energy” conference organized by Energynomics and Enexus Renewable Energy.

Bodea added that there are two key areas for collaboration between Turkey and Romania in the energy sector. The first involves the supply of industrial equipment, where Turkey holds a strong position as a major industrial power. The second level concerns Turkish investments in Romania’s energy system and according to Bodea Turkish companies must establish stronger ties with Romanian partners, given the highly regulated nature of the sector under EU rules.

“We need more robust cooperation on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, but I don’t see a particularly strong partnership yet in this regard. Stronger partnerships would enhance project efficiency,” Bodea noted.

He also pointed out that companies producing environmental protection equipment and electrical components should seriously consider Romania as a destination. Also, Romania offers significant incentives for renewable energy projects, with many funds already available and more expected in the future. The country also boasts excellent renewable resources, particularly in wind and solar energy, alongside a robust hydropower infrastructure, which helps balance the variability of renewables.

The conference “Regional Approach Istanbul” was organized by Energynomics and  Enexus Renewable Energy, with the support of our partners: Dentons, Electrica,  Elektra Renewable Support, Enexus Renewable Energy, Huawei, iNovat Energy Storage Solutions,  Photomate, Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, RomCapital Invest, Solar Today, Solpeg, STA Solar, Volt.
