UniCredit Bank has launched two guarantee solutions for renewable energy and digitalization projects, said Valentin Boldeiu, Head of EU Funds, UniCredit Bank.

“Both projects are funded by the NRRP, and the two products are complementary”, Boldeiu said at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Iasi 2024”, organised by Energynomics.

In the first case, the European Investment Bank provides a guarantee for large companies with more than 500 employees. There are no additional costs for the beneficiary, and the loan has a maturity of 15 years with an 80% guarantee.

“Being funded through the NRRP, the project must meet its targets: at least 41% of the project must be related to the fight against climate change and at least 21% must be aimed at digitisation,” he added.

The second facility is for smaller firms, with a guarantee percentage between 30% and 70%, valid until 2026. The maximum loan amount is 7.5 million euros  with a maturity of 12 years. This facility can finance green investments, including in the agricultural sector.
