FREE has funded projects totalling 87.5 million euros

The Romanian Fund for Energy Efficiency (FREE) has so far awarded 53 financing contracts for energy efficiency projects, with a cumulative value of €87.5 million, said Adrian Ghiță, Executive Director of the Fund.

“We funded 53 projects with a total value of $30.6 million, but the total investment generated by the FREE contribution was $87.5 million,” he said at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Bucharest” organised by Energynomics together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.

 

 

FREE’s funding for a project usually ranges from $100,000 to $1 million. A year ago, Ghiță said FREE had granted 51 loan contracts totalling €86.5 million. Of the total, FREE’s contribution was nearly €30 million.

In some cases, FREE also provides a technical assistance component for some projects.
