SolaX Power, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of inverters and batteries for renewable energy storage systems, has seen a significant increase in production capacity over the past year. According to Ovidiu Toma, Business Development Manager of SolaX Power Romania, the production capacity of inverters has increased by 300% and that of batteries by 200%. These advances come at a time when energy storage is becoming increasingly important, whether in the residential, commercial or utility sectors.

SolaX was set up in 2012 with two renowned Chinese corporations as investors: one responsible for the world’s largest hydropower plant and the other active in major construction. With more than 3,000 employees, more than a third of whom work in research and development, the company holds more than 100 patents and is present in more than 80 global markets.

“We are very proud that from 3 January 2024, SolaX will be listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, consolidating our leading position on the global market”, underlined Ovidiu Toma at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Bucharest” organised by Energynomics together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.

The company’s headquarters is located in Huzhou, China, on an area of 100,000 m², where inverters, batteries and chargers for electric vehicles (EV) are produced. The annual production capacity reaches 9.36 GW for inverters and 2.6 GW for storage units.

SolaX won the prestigious Red Dot award for inverter design in 2021. In addition, the company holds 42 invention patents and 48 design patents, reflecting an ongoing commitment to excellence.

In the Romanian market, the company faces a low level of education regarding energy storage solutions. “The Romanian market is still young and many installers or end customers do not have the necessary knowledge. However, we are constantly endeavouring to educate consumers to reduce their energy costs and adopt our storage solutions,” Toma explained.

Solutions offered by SolaX include fourth generation inverters, commercial and residential batteries, electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps. “For next year, we plan to launch 5 MW utility batteries to meet the demands of the market in Europe and beyond,” he added.

“Today, energy storage is essential. Photovoltaic parks produce more than is consumed at certain times, and the lack of efficient storage solutions leads to additional costs for producers,” explained Toma.
