The Ministry of Energy signed on Monday the contract for the financing of the rehabilitation and modernization of the 9.9 MW microhydropower plant at S.E. Turceni, worth almost 47 million lei.

“Today we signed the contract for the financing of the rehabilitation and modernization of the 9.9 MW microhydropower plant at S.E. Turceni, by the Oltenia Energy Complex Company. The investment, with a total value of 46.9 million lei (approximately 9.4 million euros), benefits from a financing of over 25.4 million lei from the Modernization Fund, equivalent to 64.47% of the costs, the rest being provided by the beneficiary. I thank the CEO team and colleagues from the Ministry of Energy for all the effort they have made to bring this investment to the stage of today’s contract signing, and I wish them success in bringing the project to fruition,” said, on the official social media page, the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja.

“Even though we are going through a difficult period, with many uncertainties, we are maintaining the pace of investments. The projects to modernize the national energy system must be accelerated and that is exactly what we are doing these days. In the face of the aggression that Romania is facing, we are responding with the best weapons: investments to strengthen the safety and security of the energy system.

“The country’s energy independence, competitive prices for Romanian companies and lower bills for Romanian citizens, greener energy and cleaner air – we must do all of these, and in this order,” added Burduja.
