Hidroelectrica signs a Memorandum of Collaboration with the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Hidroelectrica headquarters, a Memorandum of Collaboration was signed between Hidroelectrica, the national leader in the production of green energy from renewable sources, and the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest, one of the most prestigious technical institutions of higher education, which has as its main purpose the creation of a cooperation framework for the development of joint projects in the field of research and development, the promotion of young people, the improvement of teaching activity and the professional training of human resources, innovative technologies and energy sustainability.

The memorandum was signed by Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica, and by Radu Sorin Văcăreanu, rector of the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest.

“Together with the Technical University of Construction of Bucharest, we will build a favorable framework for collaboration between the academic and professional environments, and the impact of this partnership will be felt not only in improving Hidroelectrica’s performance, but also in developing a sustainable research and innovation ecosystem. We are convinced that this is a collaboration for the future of energy in Romania and in training a new generation of specialists prepared for the challenges of the global energy industry,” said Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica.

One of the priority objectives of the partnership is to facilitate students’ access to the real work environment in the energy sector. Students will have the opportunity to get involved in research and development projects in the field of hydropower, energy engineering and to participate in internships within Hidroelectrica. The memorandum also provides for internship programs, student scholarships and experience exchanges and technical workshops. Training and specialization sessions will also be organized for Hidroelectrica engineers supported by teaching staff from the Technical University of Construction of Bucharest.

Hidroelectrica thus reaffirms its commitment to education and sustainability, wishing to contribute to the training of future generations of engineers and specialists in the field of green energy.
