At the end of last week, Software Media also launched automated trading for the day-ahead market administered by the Romanian Commodities Exchange. The WEBUS platform automatically retrieves weather forecasts from satellites, builds the production curve and trades it to the next day market, after which it notifies the OTS/PRE. Bilateral contracts are managed in the same way, says Răzvan Rădulescu, Software Media manager.

WEBUS 4 ENERGY is the automation platform dedicated to energy suppliers and producers. Developed by Software Media, the platform brings to the energy market an innovative concept of automated control, forecasting and trading to eliminate imbalances, human error and the costs associated with manual management. The solution targets renewable energy producers and promises 40% higher revenues for them.

Six months ago, the WEBUS 4 ENERGY platform started automated trading (without human intervention) on the intra-daily market administered by the Romanian Commodities Exchange, in order to eliminate imbalances among renewable energy producers.

To manage power producers, Software Media has developed its own SCADA data acquisition and control solution. It is installed locally in the power generation plant and automatically integrated with the WEBUS platform. According to Software Media, the original concept can be considered as a “balancing at source” solution. The company aims to extend the solution managed by WEBUS 4 ENREGY to as many renewable generators and storage facilities as possible, so that by eliminating imbalances in renewable generators, the most unpredictable in the grid, the overall imbalance of the national power system will also be reduced.
