The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, signed 62 financing contracts for construction projects of solar parks for city halls and public institutions, the total value of which amounted to 128.47 million lei, according to a press release from the relevant ministry, sent to the press on Saturday.
“In the last week before the holidays, we managed to sign over 110 financing contracts with city halls and public institutions, as well as contracts worth about 570 million lei for the development of the battery manufacturing industry and new storage capacities,” said Burduja, quoted in the press release.
Thus, on Friday, the head of Energy signed 62 contracts related to the call financed through the Modernization Fund, Key Program 1: Renewable energy sources and energy storage – Supporting investments in new capacities for the production of electricity produced from renewable sources for self-consumption for public entities. The total value amounts to 128.47 million lei, with a total installed capacity of 19.59 MW.
“To date, we have signed over 430 financing contracts for the construction of new solar parks for local communities, with a total value of over 1.2 billion lei and a total installed power of 171.92 MW. The beneficiaries of the investments are city halls and public institutions. By signing these financing contracts, the Ministry of Energy supports communities to reduce utility costs. They will manage to ensure a good part of their energy consumption for schools, nurseries, polyclinics or public lighting, and the money saved will return to the community through new investments. We have managed to accelerate investments in storage capacities, as well as investments in the battery manufacturing industry. For the first time, this year, we are using energy from new storage capacities in the energy mix of the national system. The fact that we have batteries produced in Romania, together with the clear will of companies to invest in storage capacities, strengthens our position as an important European player in this segment”, the Minister of Energy emphasized, according to Agerpres.
Also this week, the press release states, Sebastian Burduja signed other important contracts for “our role as a regional leader in the field of Energy”.
Thus, four financing contracts were initialed with a state aid value of over 470 million lei from the call for investment 4.1 of the PNRR for the production of Romanian batteries and the last two financing contracts with a state aid value of over 100 million lei from the investment 4.3 of the PNRR for the development of new battery storage capacities.
The contracts signed this week are: Crişana Pro Construct SA – Production of industrial batteries Crişana (state aid value: 145.035 million lei/29.151 million euros, capacity 0.547 GW/year); Ecorec Recycling SRL – Establishment of a production unit (state aid value: 46.287 million lei/9.303 million euros, capacity 0.3362 GW/year); Grima Com SRL – Establishment of a production unit (state aid value: 169.956 million lei/34.16 million euros, capacity 0.4482 GW/year); Sinteza SA – Establishment of a new capacity for the production, testing and recycling of electrolytes used for the manufacture of industrial batteries for storing electrical energy (state aid value: 124.036 million lei/24.93 million euros, capacity 2 GW/year); RPower Bess – Two SRL – Construction of electricity generation and storage capacity, including production and storage facilities, access roads, internal networks, transformer station and connections (state aid value: 74.56 million lei/14.986 million, installed capacity: 245 MWh); Teiuş Solar SRL – Construction of battery electricity storage facility (BESS), with related facilities, buildings, land development and access roads (state aid value: 37.824 million lei/7.602 million euros, installed capacity: 116.96 MWh).
