DRI, the subsidiary of Ukrainian DTEK Group that develops renewable energy projects in the EU, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Ivan Geliukh as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025.

Geliukh replaces John Stuart, who led DRI for almost three years and transformed the company into one of the leading renewable energy players in its core markets of Croatia, Italy, Poland and Romania.

During Stuart’s tenure, DRI’s renewable energy and battery storage portfolio reached 1.4GW and the team expanded to nearly 100 international experts across six offices.

“It has been a pleasure to transform DRI from a start-up into a recognized energy producer, advancing the mission of accelerating the energy transition in Europe. EU countries have ambitious targets for renewable energy and I have no doubt that as DRI expands, it will be an important part of this story. DRI finds in Ivan a leader with a proven track record within DTEK, and I am confident that he will lead the business into the next phase of development. I wish him every success!” said John Stuart.

“I am delighted to take on this role at DRI, one of DTEK’s fastest growing subsidiaries, with a mission to deliver clean energy and energy storage in Europe.

“I would like to thank John for his outstanding commitment and leadership over the past few years. Under his leadership, DRI has become a solid renewable energy business with a promising future. I look forward to further developing the business as we work to deliver significant renewable energy and battery storage capacity in our core markets by 2030, as well as to begin exploring new markets in Europe,” added Ivan Geliukh, CEO of DRI.

Geliukh joins DRI from D.Trading, DTEK’s pan-European trading division, where he was CEO since 2022. Under his leadership, D.Trading has grown to operate in 23 countries and operate on 22 energy exchanges.

Prior to joining D.Trading, Geliukh led DTEK Grids, where he was also co-chair of the ECDSO-E steering group of distribution system operators. Ivan joined DTEK Group in 2005.
