Romania has completed a new stage of the dialogue with the European Commission regarding the payment of the second tranche of payment from the PNRR, in a total net amount of 2.81 billion euro, which covers 51 milestones and targets, informs the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE).
Together with the pre-financing and the first tranche of PNRR, Romania will benefit cumulatively from payments of almost ten billion euro from this important European financing resource.
Since the beginning of the implementation of the plan, more than 8,500 contracts have already been signed with PNRR beneficiaries, worth 11 billion euro, MIPE states.
“The dialogue for clarifying the necessary conditions for considering benchmarks 129 and 133 as having been fully met, in relation to the findings of the Audit Authorities, is aimed at the value of 143 million euro, related to the two benchmarks,” says the press release, according to Agerpres.
In accordance with the provisions of European Regulation 241/2021, the payment related to the second installment can be made for the amount of 2.67 billion euro, with the difference of 143 million euro to be financed after the completion of the procedure for clarifying the terms of fulfillment of the conditions specific to milestones 129 and 133, within a maximum period of 6 months. In this sense, Romania has already developed an action plan, which includes the following stages: for Milestone 129 – signing contracts for the construction of a capacity of new electrolyzers of at least 100 MW (responsible – the Ministry of Energy) and for Milestone 133 – signing contracts for projects of high-efficiency gas cogeneration and central heating (responsible – the Ministry of Energy).
