ACUE, the Federation of Associations of Energy Utility Companies, announces the appointment of Cristina Păun as deputy director of the organization. Cristina Păun will complete the team with the objective of supporting the development plans of the federation, whose mission is to establish a favorable, transparent, open and stable cooperation environment to ensure the energy transition.
“Energy has become the turning point in today’s economic policies, as has digitalization. The global market is changing, the European market is transforming. We need policies that build today the foundations of the economy for over 20-30 years. ACUE is involved in all these processes of preparation and change, because energy is fundamental for household customers and businesses. Cristina’s experience, which comes with a 360-degree view of the industry, will help us better cover the connection between European and local issues, contribute to connecting partners from industries and authorities, so we ensure that we will be able to capitalize on the local energy potential, in favor of customers,” said Daniela Dărăban, executive director of ACUE.
Cristina Păun has accumulated over 10 years of experience in local and international consulting and has acquired a comprehensive understanding of the energy industry, with a focus on the regulatory framework and grant funding at European and national level. Thus, Cristina assisted the most important companies operating in the utilities sector in Romania and in Central and Eastern Europe in strategic projects aimed at adjusting the objectives and policies of the companies in accordance with the requirements established by EU and national regulations.
“ACUE is at the forefront of changes in energy, and my role will be to complete the work of the team, to contribute to the coordination of the experts’ activity. I will be involved in the dialogue with the Federation’s partners, associations and companies, and in the efforts to identify the most important challenges to which, together, we are looking for the best solutions in the context of the energy transition,” added Cristina Păun, the new deputy director of ACUE.
Before joining the ACUE team, Cristina was director of the Regulatory Department of Ciga Energy. Cristina is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest – Faculty of International Economic Relations and has a master’s degree in Management and Public Administration.
