As adopted, the decision to cap energy prices does not stimulate competition and prudential procurement policies, signaled the executive director of ACUE, Daniela Dărăban, during the conference “Future of utilities”, organized by Energynomics. Specifically, the representative of the ACUE Federation referred to the identification and corroboration of all sources of funding that will support the investments needed for the transition of the energy sector.

“The measures proposed through the financing programs must be undertaken throughout the energy chain, starting with the public authorities designated for the designing and management of European non-reimbursable funds, continuing with the National Energy Regulatory Authority, as well as all actors in production, transport, distribution and supply of energy”, said Daniela Dărăban.

ACUE supports the development at the government level of a single platform dedicated to the financing potential available for the energy sector in the period 2021-2027, with a perspective to 2030, including a catalog of all non-reimbursable support instruments or financial instruments. It would include, along with other funding mechanisms available to Romania in the next decade, European-managed programs, nationally managed operational programs, the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, and other government funding sources. “A strategic and unitary approach to the potential for accessing and financing investment projects for the energy sector is fundamental”, underlined Daniela Dărăban.

The conference “Future of utilities – more, cheaper, safer” was organized by Energynomics, with the support of its partners: Automatica, CEZ Romania, Eaton Electric, Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH, Schneider Electric, Transelectrica.
