Adeplast, one of the largest local building materials companies, was taken over by the Swiss from Sika.
The shareholders of Adeplast SA have decided to sell the company to the Swiss group Sika AG, a global player in the chemicals market for construction. This transaction fulfills the wish of Marcel Barbut, the founder of Adeplast, who transformed the company into the most important manufacturer of thermal insulation in Romania. Barbut died in February 2019, at the age of 62, according to Hotnews.ro.
With 470 employees, Adeplast achieved a turnover of 474 million lei in 2018. The company was founded in 1993 in Oradea by Marcel Bărbuț. Sika is a specialized chemical materials company.
