The installation of energy storage equipment is a solution for balancing the energy distribution system, which is under pressure due to the entry of more and more prosumers into the network, said Adrian Paraschiv, Country manager Photomate, at the conference “Spring Cocktail 2023”, organized by Energynomics.
“The storage solution will be the answer on balancing the grid that at this moment is under continuous strain. The distribution grid has more and more problems in adapting to the new prosumers and we expect to see new 40.000 to 50.000 new prosumers. This means that the pressure on the distribution grid will be even bigger”, Adrian Paraschiv stated. Additionally, Photomate is involved in 2 GW worth of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Romania.
The company, which made 490 million dollars in revenue last year solely from inverters and storage systems, will provide the market with a new 2 MW storage system for large scale utility projects as well as a 200-kW commercial system for small businesses.
After 2022, that has been ”great year for us”, Photomate is expecting to have “better results” in 2023. A new generation of household charging stations made by Huawei that can be completely integrated with photovoltaic systems will be released to the market by the company in April.
Additionally, more household PV systems will be disconnected from the grid as there are more prosumers. In order to ensure that the customers’ energy supply is secure, the grid operators must either deploy new automatic transformer stations or increase the network’s quality.
