To circumnavigate the globe by plane, a passenger’s footprint is 9 tonnes of CO2. By bus, this would be one tonne, and the difference between these two figures highlights energy efficiency, said Adrian Rășoiu, Business Development Manager at FlixBus, at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Bucharest” organised by Energynomics together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.
“Both the way we produce energy and the way we consume it can be efficient, and this is where coaches can play a significant role. The carbon footprint of a bus is five times smaller than that of a passenger car and nine times smaller than the CO2 footprint of an aeroplane. One coach can replace 30 cars, whether petrol or electric,” said Rășoiu.
