The Environmental Fund Administration published on Friday evening the list of approved files within the Recycling Plants Program financed by NRRP, following the meeting of the Approval Committee.
The program aims to build at least 26 waste recycling facilities, which will become functional by June 30, 2026, contributing to achieving the recycling targets established by the circular economy legislative package, according to a statement on the institution’s website.
Following the evaluation process, 26 funding applications were approved, with a total value of 674,749,100.51 lei (about 135 mln. euro- e.n.). The projects were selected in descending order of the scores obtained, in accordance with the criteria established by the funding guide.
“The publication of the list of economic operators that have submitted projects for the creation of recycling plants marks an essential step in the implementation of the commitments undertaken by AFM through the NRRP. We have achieved our objective of financing 26 projects, which means 26 real opportunities for the development of recycling infrastructure in Romania. The increased demand from the industry and the obvious need for investments in this sector show us that Romania has significant potential in the circular economy. We will continue to support this strategic direction and we are considering expanding the program to support even more economic operators in the future. Recycling is not just an obligation, but an opportunity for sustainable development and a cleaner future for all”, said Florin Bănică, President of the Administration of the Environmental Fund.
The financial allocation granted through the PNRR for the works intended for the construction of recycling facilities under the program is 220,000,000 euros, equivalent to 1,092,102,000 lei.
The maximum eligible amount of state aid granted within a project is 8,400,000 euros, and the minimum eligible amount that can be requested within the project is 500,000 euros, the intensity of regional state aid being a maximum of 75%.
Within the Recycling Factories Program financed from the NRRP, a number of 140 files were submitted for 144 installations, with a value of 2,888,054,976 lei from the PNRR, the equivalent of 581,788,234.75 euros. The list of files accepted within this program is published on the website www.afm.ro, in the Financing Programs – NRRP section.
