The Administration of the Environment Fund (AFM) is working to develop financing programs to build the charging infrastructure for electric cars, natural gas or hydrogen, AFM president Cornel Brezuică said.
„For the future, in view of the latest regulations on encouraging the promotion of alternative fuels, the Environment Fund Administration is launching or working on developing funding programs to build national charging infrastructure for electric cars, natural gas and possibly hydrogen, as the trend in the automotive industry is to focus on this type of fuel that is even the most environmentally friendly,” said AFM head, according to Agerpres.
He pointed out that in January 2019, the registrations of electric cars in Romania exceeded those of 2016, and the upward trend of the Rabla Plus program is owed to the subsidy, which is the highest in the European Union.
