AmCham Romania has a new Board of Directors, Jaak Mikkel (GM Coca-Cola HBC Romania) becomes president

The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) has a new Board of Directors, following the elections and annual general meeting. Jaak Mikkel, General Manager Coca-Cola HBC Romania is the new president of the organization. The AmCham Executive Committee includes vice-presidents Anda Todor – manging partner Dentons, Radu Florescu – CEO Centrade Cheil, and Treasurer Madeline Alexander – Audit partner & EU account leader, Deloitte.

Board members at large are Bogdan Ion – country managing partner EY Romania, Cătălin Velescu – Business Services Operations leader CEE – MEA 3M Romania, Elisabeta Moraru – country business development manager, Google, Gabriela Matei – general manager, Microsoft Romania, Daniela Nemoianu – senior partner, Nemoianu Consulting, Tax&Law, Ionuţ Sas – tax partner, PwC Romania and James Daniel Stewart – vice president, Raiffeisen Bank.

Jaak Mikkel, AmCham Romania’s president reiterated AmCham’s firm commitment to represent the business community in the consultations with decision makers in view of adopting public policies and economic measures that will best serve Romania.

”An ever changing global, regional and internal context impacts businesses and call for an increased involvement of the business community. This is AmCham Romania’s mission as well, to represent our over 400 members – U.S., international and Romanian companies that share a common vision on Romania’s development. We will maintain high on our agenda the strategic directions identified in the context of the Priorities for Romania report, as follows: human capital, modern infrastructure, capital inflows, sustainable development and environment protection, rule of law,” said Jaak Mikkel.

Strengthening the transatlantic trade ties, in the context of the Strategic US- Romania partnership, and as part of the EU, is an AmCham priority and it will be reflected as such in our agenda. A new avenue in AmCham’s activity to be launched at the very beginning of this Board’s mandate is AmCham’s contribution to the development of the SMEs and entrepreneurs, both by reflecting their specific needs in the advocacy agenda and by way of facilitating best practices exchanges between members of this sector.
