In an ANAF address, it appears that since December 2018, the Bucharest City Hall has not taken any steps to take over the ELCEN claim, although the Ministry of Finance has given its agreement of principle on the matter. Although in February Gabriela Firea stated that PMB did everything human is possible to save RADET.
“We have done everything that is professional and humanly possible both for the salvation of RADET – the institution of Bucharest and ELCEN, a company under the Romanian Government. We also accepted to pay a huge sum, 230 million euros, the ANAF claim on ELCEN, precisely to unify the two systems, the production of thermal energy, managed by ELCEN, with the transmission and distribution, managed by RADET, in the interests of the citizens,” the mayor said, according to economica.net.
PMB initially manifested its interest in taking over ELCEN’s claim, but it has abandoned the plan, which led to the bankruptcy situation of RADET, at present, according to sources quoted by economica.net.
