Domestic consumers receiving offers from suppliers to move from the regulated market to the competitive market or to extend the validity of the contract on the free market must be very careful about the total value of the promised invoice and analyze the offers of several suppliers, said representatives of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
Domestic customers must know that they have the right to change their electricity supplier within 21 days from the request date and that the supplier can be any of the economic operators who have a supply license for the Romanian territory, this service not being limited to a certain geographical area of service.
They must also know that the process of switching the supplier is a free one, being forbidden to collect any taxes or fees by the energy companies, and that does not involve technical changes.
“It is important to remember that the initiation of the supplier switching process can only take place after the final customer has opted for the new supplier. And in this regard, it is recommended that, in advance, several offers should be requested and analyzed in comparison, so that the final domestic customer can choose the most advantageous offer for him, among those available on the market,” suggests ANRE, according to Agerpres.
