Economic operators carrying out energy supply activities are required to purchase a total of 3.8 million green certificates for the second quarter of this year (Q2), according to a document posted on the website of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
Electrica Furnizare must buy the most green certificates, respectively 842,605, followed by Enel Energie Muntenia, with 423,683 certificates, Enel Energie – with 400,736 certificates, E.ON Energie – 370,888, CEZ Vânzare – 322,176 and Tinmar Energy – 248,609 certificates, according to Agerpres.
Green certificates are securities that renewable energy producers receive and that they sell in a specialized market for an extra- gain in addition to the actual price of energy.
Suppliers are required to purchase a number of green certificates, in proportion to the amount of energy delivered.
About 219 suppliers and 722 producers are registered on the Green Certificates Market within the OPCOM energy exchange.
