Economic operators licensed for energy supply are required to purchase a total of 4.2 million green certificates for the first quarter (Q1) of this year, according to a document of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) .

Electrica Furnizare must purchase the most certificates, respectively 915,636, being followed by Enel Energie Muntenia, with 477,042 certificates, and Enel Energie – with 427,945.

The list is followed by E.ON – 420,231 green certificates, CEZ Vânzare – 406,524 certificates and Getica 95 – 344,975 certificates.

Several operators, including Donau Chem, Vest Energo and Enero Furnizare, did not provide the necessary information to ANRE and risk a fine of between 1% and 5% of turnover, according to Agerpres.

Economic operators with an energy supply license are obliged to purchase a number of green certificates in proportion to the amount of energy traded.

Green certificates are securities that renewable energy producers receive free of charge and that are traded on the profile exchange.
