The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) is building a platform to function as a database with all electricity and gas consumers and all supply and distribution contracts, said Zoltan Nagy-Bege, the institution’s vice president.
“We will make a platform that will be a database with absolutely all consumers in Romania. The idea started from a discussion through which we aimed to simplify the process of changing the supplier,” Bege said, according to Agerpres.
According to him, the project is carried out through the Operational Program of Administrative Capacity with a financing of almost 20 million lei and is realized in collaboration with all operators in the market and with ACUE.
“What this platform will do: first of all it will be a database with absolutely all gas and electricity consumers in Romania and we propose that starting next year, when the project must be completed, everything that means supply and distribution contracts should be made mandatory on this platform. Our gas and electricity price comparators will also be integrated,” said Nagy-Bege.
He pointed out that the main goal will be the back management of supply and distribution contracts and the relationship between these companies in case a change of supplier is done.
“We will allow access to this platform to consumers. Starting from the comparator of standard offers, the consumer can initiate the process of change,” added the vice-president of ANRE.
In total, in Romania there are 9 million consumers of electricity and 4 million of gas, including households and companies.
