The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) will launch, on Thursday, a call-center to come to the aid of consumers interested in the liberalization of the electricity market, ANRE representatives told for Agerpres on Wednesday.

“This is a hotline specifically dedicated to liberalization, to help consumers who want to know more about this process or want to receive help to access the price comparator on the ANRE website,” said the authority’s representatives.

The electricity market was completely liberalized on January 1, 2021.

From this date forward, consumers who were previously regulated will pay 13-26% higher prices if they keep the current contract.

Authorities and specialists recommend household consumers to conclude contracts on the competitive market, either with the current supplier or with another one, licensed by ANRE.
