The association formed by Alstom Transport (leader) and Linde Gaz Romania (associate) was the only bidder at the auction organized for the purchase of 12 electric traction vehicles based on hydrogen fuel cells, organized by the Railway Reform Authority (ARF).
According to a press release from the ARF, on Monday, July 31, 2023, the meeting of the Evaluation Commission was held, designated as part of the auction for the purchase of 12 electric traction vehicles based on hydrogen fuel cells, in order to open the submitted offers. The bidder that submitted the documentation is the association formed by SC Alstom Transport SA (leader) and Linde Gaz Romania SRL (associate).
The value of the purchase is between 2.447 billion lei, excluding VAT, and 4.169 billion lei, excluding VAT, depending on the duration of the services related to the contract – 15 and 30 years respectively, and the duration of the contract will be 213 months, according to Financialintelligence.
The 12 vehicles will be used for the routes under public service contracts, on the non-electrified lines Bucharest – Pitesti, with extension to Piatra Olt – Craiova, Bucharest – Henri Coandă Airport, Bucharest – Târgovişte, Bucharest – Pitesti – Curtea de Argeş, contracts attributed to some railway transport operators, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 1370/2007/CE as amended and according to Romanian legislation.
The financing of the project is ensured through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, “Component 4 – Sustainable Transport” and from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, within the limits of the amounts approved annually for this purpose, according to the public investment programs approved according to the law .
“Following the opening of the offer, the commission will begin its evaluation, in accordance with the legal provisions in force and the requirements of the Terms of Reference”, ARF also noted.
