The average price of energy delivered on Monday reached 506 lei/ MWh, with only one leu below the absolute record, recorded on January 17, of 507 lei/ MWh. The maximum hourly price was 655 lei/ MWh, for the hourly range 20-21, with only 25 lei lower than the highest historical hourly price, of 680 lei/ MWh, realized on February 1, 2017.
Despite the extremely high level of 107 euro/ MWh, the price in Romania (identical to the one in Hungary, the market with which the domestic market is interconnected), this is not the highest price recorded in the European Union on Monday, according to profit.ro.
In Croatia and Slovenia, the average energy price delivered on Monday was 26 euro higher than in Romania, reaching 133.18 euro/ MWh, close to the hourly maximum recorded in Romania for the 20-21 range.
