Mark Beacom, Managing Director of the offshore operator Black Sea Oil and Gas, said, “ The Black Sea is at a very early stage in terms of exploration activity, compared to other regions. Further exploration must take place, which will lead onto appraisal and then finally development. Accessing the Black sea is challenging, although not as challenging as the more development-mature Caspian.”
Over the years, the role of the Black Sea has changed: not only have new discoveries confirmed impressive quantities of gas, but the region is now seen as an energy hub for Europe. All new and existing projects have generated an essential need for technology and oil and gas equipment, which puts the Black Sea on the global agenda for business development plans of upstream and midstream companies.
The 4th edition of the Black Sea Oil and Gas conference will welcome over 150 representatives from the oil and gas industries in order to discuss the major projects happening now in the region.
This is the leading annual event for the Black Sea states (Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine). The programme will feature a two-day conference which includes presentations from the operators, roundtable discussions on specific technological and geological challenges in the Black Sea, and an extraordinary Gala Dinner.
